Dear church family,
2019 has been a year of God’s unfailing faithfulness. Not everything has been easy this year; yet at the same time we have witnessed God’s goodness and grace in our midst. The Lord convicted us to return to our first love, Jesus, and he continues to challenge us to let Him be Lord over our lives and church. We’ve embarked on a journey to go deeper into the word of God. We focused on building healthy families, both our natural families at home and our church family.
God responded to our hunger for more of him by an outpouring of his presence during the Awakening Conference in the beginning of 2019 and during our weekend services. The journey that we’ve begun in 2019 is one of wholeness and peace (shalom) in our lives, families and in our church. We have seen lives changed for the glory of God. Our impact was not only local. We have been able to invest substantially in missions projects in Zimbabwe, Turkey, Paris and Israel.
We want to challenge you by inviting you to labor together as this year comes to an end! It is our desire to give one more push to kingdom work through Thousand Hills, both locally and globally.
Every year we participate in a special giving campaign called Heart for the House. Through Heart for the House we invest in strategic local projects, as well as missions projects globally that allow us to reach more people with the Gospel of the Kingdom and help strengthen God’s family, the local church.
If you consider Thousand Hills to be your church family, the best place to start to make a difference financially is by setting aside your tithes, the first 10% of your income, and returning it to the Lord through the local church so that we can effectively support our local ministries and serve you and your family. We are so very grateful for the many families who faithfully sow financially in God’s house!
Beyond your regular giving, you can take a step of faith by joining us for the Heart for the House campaign. Heart for the House this year is all about saying thanks to God for what he has done for us privately and in our church family as a whole. It’s also about looking forward to the amazing things he has in store for us!
Our board of trustees decided that 50% of the proceeds of Heart for the House 2019 will be invested locally, for instance in the renovation of the kitchen and our future youth room. The kitchen is very outdated, yet many ministries make use of it, and the youth really needs a room they can call their own.
The other 50% of the proceeds will go to our global missions projects in Zimbabwe, Israel and Paris, as well as to the missionaries we support on a monthly basis. We would love to bless them with our December giving!
May I challenge you to ask the Lord how you can participate in the Heart for the House offering this December to say: “Thank you, Lord”?
May God bless you and your family during this holiday season!
On behalf of the whole Thousand Hills interim team, deacons and trustees
Ps Sebastiaan & Eva van Wessem
