Corona Update December 2021

As a church, we take our responsibility seriously for what happens in our buildings and during our services to limit the risks of infection with COVID-19. We base this on advice from the government, the RIVM and relevant scientific articles.

All services in Hilversum continue as planned!

As you know, our church leadership takes the developments around COVID seriously. Because the Bible calls us to meet together physically (Heb.10:25), our policy ever since the first lockdown has always been to keep the doors open of our Hilversum location. We do not see any need to change this policy, in spite of this new strict lockdown.

We feel that physical church gatherings are essential for our human wellbeing, especially in times like these. We need to have moments together as God’s people to encounter him, and to encourage one another. The terms of this new lockdown do not get in the way of us doing that.

Besides coming together to worship and listen to God’s word, we feel we need to take time to pray for our authorities (cf. 1Tim.2:2), for the healthcare system that is under pressure, and for small and midsize businesses, which are being hit hard by the lockdown.

Obviously, as a church leadership, we keep monitoring the air quality in the auditorium to limit the chance of infection to a minimum. And we want to remind you to stay home if you have COVID-related symptoms. Furthermore, in our building we recommend you to keep enough distance from people outside your household.

We are praying that, in spite of all the new regulations, you will have a wonderful Christmas holiday. Keep your eyes focused on Jesus, the reason for the season! And see you soon during our Christmas Eve services or during the regular Sunday services!

The service in Huizen on December 19 will continue as planned. Afterwards, the doors will close temporarily.

Below you will find the most important things that we are updating regarding the services and the current known updates from the government. The leadership of the team is keeping a close eye on how it develops and will take action when needed. From November 14, this is what the leadership team of the Hilversum location agreed upon:

Registration

We do not register attendees. If the numbers of infections increase to such an extent that we deem this necessary, you will be able to register online in advance, but also before our services. If you have symptoms that may be related to Corona, please stay home. We recommend that you get tested.

Services

We will not do QR code checks and will respect everyone’s decision, but want you to take responsibility to stay home if you have symptoms. Good ventilation is essential. We monitor the air quality with a CO2 meter and ensure that doors / windows are (partially) open to maintain good air quality. So please wear a warm sweater and jacket!

Seating

Attendees are directed to their seats by the welcome team. We will try to keep enough space between households.

Face masks

Face masks are not mandatory. You are welcome to bring and wear one. We will also make them available to anyone who would like to have one.
Hand gel is available at the entrances. We advise you to disinfect your hands upon arrival.

For the cKids program we will keep the same regulations.

Mini’s (0-4) can go to Room 1 during the whole service
Heroes (5-12) can go to Room 2 during the whole service.

Please come in through the main entrance and follow the directions towards the cKids program. The children can be picked up after the service!

If your child has a cold or sickness, please let them stay at home. We can’t take care of them, because we are not comfortable with that during the pandemic.

The cKids leaders are looking forward to welcome your kids and teach them about the Gospel of the Kingdom!

To make sure we all take responsibility when it comes to health we will keep following these guidelines:

  • Before leaving your house, use the toilet and wash your hands – the bathrooms will only be open for emergencies.
  • Don’t arrive early and leave the room immediately after the service – this way the room clears quickly for clean-up and there won’t be a queue forming.
  • Enter the church through the main entrance – we leave the folding doors open.
  • The Hospitality Team will assign you a place as you enter the church.
  • Keep all your personal belongings with you (even your jacket) – you’ll exit through a different door.
  • Attend one service – we make an exception for Serve Team.
  • We advise you to wear a face mask when it’s not possible for you to keep 1,5 meter distance.
  • Do you have any symptoms? Please stay at home, watch our livestream and let us know so we know how we can pray for you.
