Welcome to Celebration Church Almere!
In March 2024, Celebration Church Almere launched its weekly celebrations in Casa Casla in Almere Stad. If you are looking for a local church that is all about celebrating God’s presence and building people’s lives on the truth of God’s Word, look no further!
Celebration Church Almere started because of a dream and a desire the Lord gave to Celebration Church Netherlands’ Lead Pastor, Sebastiaan van Wessem, and Sebastiaan Boonstra, who both reside in Almere with their families. Around 225.000 people live in Almere, but only a small percentage of these people attend church and know Jesus as their Lord, Savior and King.
The Lord began to stir their hearts to pioneer a new Celebration Church location in Almere that would focus on discipleship and life transformation. Supernaturally, God connected them with people in the city who have a similar passion to see God break through in revival in Almere.
At the moment, Celebration Church Almere holds weekly celebrations on Sundays at Casa Casla starting at 10:30. Also, there are a couple of Shema Bible Studies running in the city of Almere. In the future, we will also run various courses, such as the Alpha Course, and organize events.
Are you ready to join us on this journey of life and city transformation?
Sunday Messages
The speakers of Celebration Church Almere aim to share weekly powerful and Biblical messages. Here is the message of last Sunday!
When are the gatherings?
Starting the beginning of March we are gathering every Sunday at 10.30 for a bilingual (nl/en) service. On March 31st we celebrated our official launch on Resurrection Sunday (Easter Sunday). There is a service for adults with a cKids (Celebration Kids) program running simultaneously for ages 4-12. After the service we’d love to meet you in our coffee corner.
How can I get connected to this location?
The Sunday services are the best place to start! Meet our team and find out more about our teams to help build this location. Or connect with us on social media or our newsletter. We are working on more ways to get connected. For now, we hope to meet you on Sunday morning.
Do you gather outside of the Sunday morning service?
Yes, we sure do! During the week we run Shema Bible Studies. These are Bible study groups that gather all over the city of Almere. During these gatherings we simply open the Bible, pray and share our views on the Scripture of the night with each other. In the future, we aim to run different courses like the Alpha Course and local events.
Do you offer courses?
We aim to do so soon. Currently we are in our launch phase of our location. As we are settled more, we will launch courses to help you grow more in faith. The current way to grow in faith together is joining a Shema Bible Study group. Find a group near you on Sunday morning.
Here’s a quick look at our Praise & Worship!
Outreach
Every so often we go out onto the street to share about the Gospel of the Kingdom with those who are open to it. Sometimes we do a prayer walk or we praise & worship together in the city square or the central station hall at the piano. You can join as you are, what you are comfortable with.
Resources
If you are curious on what teaching we are excited about, we encourage you to read Pastor Sebastiaan van Wessem’s blog: https://hearingandobeying.org/category/discipleship-resources/ – he sheds light on why we focus on discipleship and more!
Discipleship
Focus
Even though we love powerful weekend services with great worship and dynamic preaching, we believe that a Bible study with a focus on discipleship is the place where true life change takes place. We don’t only want to learn what God’s Word says, but obey it and put it into practice.
So in May 2023 we started our first Bible study group. We call the approach we are using a “Shema Bible Study” (SBS). A Shema Bible Study is the same as a Discovery Bible Study (DBS), but just a different title (the Hebrew word “shema” means hearing and obeying). These SBSes / DBSes are the core ingredient of some of the most effective Disciple Making Movements (DMMs) around the globe, even in countries such as Iran.
